There have only been two rounds of fixtures in La Liga since the new season kicked off, yet Real Madrid fans have seen enough to be excited over young attacker Marco Asensio.
The 20-year-old had fans head over heels over him after scoring a lovely goal in their UEFA Super Cup triumph over Sevilla, which he followed up with a goal in their opening Spanish Primera Division tie.
Asensio has now gone out an dropped a revelation which will score him more points among the Blancos fans: he snubbed interest from rivals Barcelona for a return to the Bernabeu.
“There was the chance to go to Barca and other teams,” Asensio told El Larguero (as per Football Espana). “I was able to decide and I came to Madrid.”
The young Spaniard spent last season on loan at Espanyol. With the likes of Bale, Benzema, and Cristiano holding down spots in the starting eleven, playing time appeared unlikely for the Mallorca-born starlet.
However, James Rodriguez and Isco have fallen out of favor with Zizou, handing Asensio a golden opportunity to break into the first-team, which he seized. Although the winger is adamant on staying at the Bernabeu, he has made it clear to Zidane that he won’t be a bench-warmer.

EFCC arrest Eboyin state Governor's brother
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday arrested one Austin Umahi, brother to the current governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, along with two others – Chinyere Egwuche and Mabel Dikibo – over a N400million slush fund linked to the 2015 presidential campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The suspects, all staff of Brass Engineering & Construction Nigeria Limited and Osborn La-Palm Royal Resort, were arrested for refusing to honour invitations by the EFCC over an ongoing investigation of both companies.
While Austin Umahi doubles as chairman of both companies, Chinyere Egwuche and Marbel Dikibo are also signatories to the companies’ accounts.
EFCC investigators alleged that the Director of Finance of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, Nenadi Usman released N400million to the Ebonyi State chapter of the PDP for the 2015 presidential election.
The said fund, the investigators said, was moved from Fidelity Bank Abakaliki on March 27, 2015, to an Access Bank, Abakaliki, account, where one Maxwell Umahi further moved N100, 000,000 and N300, 000,000 respectively into the accounts of Brass Engineering & Construction Nigeria Limited and Osborn La-Palm Royal Resort respectively.
One of the suspects, Chinyere Egwuche, subsequently withdrew the N300 million paid into the account of Osborn La-Palm, which according to her was used to finance the construction of Osborn La-Palm Hotels in Abakaliki, Uburu and Port Harcourt, while the N100 million paid into the account of Brass Engineering and Construction Nigeria Limited was transferred to a certain David Umahi Faith Foundation.
Although investigation is still ongoing, EFCC operatives said the companies to which the funds were transferred were traced to the Ebonyi State governor.

Jack Wilshire need playing time - Xavi
Arsene Wenger has told the Gunners midfielder to go on loan in order to regain match sharpness, something which the former Barca man thinks is vital for his progression
EXCLUSIVE
A loan deal for Jack Wilshere will allow him to become one of the best midfielders in Europe, says former Barcelona star Xavi.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has told the England midfielder to find a new club in order to regain his fitness, having played just 135 minutes in his last 15 months at the club.
And Xavi, established as one of the greatest midfielders in European history, believes that a temporary switch away from the Emirates would be beneficial for Wilshere.
"A loan move can be a good move for him," Xavi told Goal . "He needs to be playing, he needs to build up his fitness, and if he can do that I am sure he will still have a big career at Arsenal.
"It's important that he is loaned to a club that try and play football. Arsenal have a philosophy similar to Barcelona's in their approach to the game - and he should be loaned to a club who want to keep the ball and share that vision.

Angry Nigerians slam CNN broadcaster for Omiting Nigeria's name
International broadcaster, the Cable News Network (CNN), has angered Nigerians for omitting the country’s name in the headline of a report announcing the visit of Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg, to Africa’s most populous country.
The headline mentioned Sub-Sahara Africa as Mr. Zuckerberg’s destination.
The Facebook founder visited Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital, on Tuesday, and interacted with Nigerian tech entrepreneurs at Yaba, regarded as the Silicon Valley of Nigeria.
“Mark Zuckerberg makes first-ever visit to Sub-Sahara Africa,” read the headline, published by CNN Africa and shared on its Facebook page and Twitter late Tuesday.
That headline promptly sparked anger in one of the world’s largest oil producers, with citizens taking to Facebook and Twitter to attack the broadcaster for omitting ‘Nigeria’ and creating the impression that Africa was a country
